Tactile Telekinesis -

This power can actually imitate a few of Superman's powers and, with creative application, can do a lot more. It gives a sort of pseudo-super strength, some invulnerability, and flight. She can also hold something that is falling apart together and take things apart. She can also make things levitate as long as she's touching them, which is the basis of her super strength. It relies very heavily from what she can see and touch and does not protect her from light- or magick-based attacks.

Appearance:

At 5'2" Kana is a little shorter than average, her dark hair making her seem even shorter. Her hair is short, barely covering her ears, and is held out of her eyes with a green hair-pin, the same color as her eyes. She has tanned skin, big feet, and small hands. She is chubby, but healthy, and has high-arched eyebrows.

She wears a pair of red boots that go past her knees and black cotton shorts without a button or zipper, leaving only a couple inches of thigh showing. She wears a black shirt under a blue and black jacket with a high collar and Superman's 'S' shield emblazoned on the front and back. Most of the front of the jacket is blue and the back is all black. It has a long tail, giving it a cape-like appearance.

I know the legs are wonky, but it was a very quick doodle-type-thing with color tacked on, so it's not totally accurate... I also drew it with a mouse.

Personality:

Kana is unstable. She is prone to violent mood swings and irrational thinking, even if she means well. And she always means well. She will express her opinion without thinking what other people might feel.
She is afraid of fire, is a hopeless romantic, and is not the least bit good at math of any kind. She is not used to people disagreeing with her so if anyone expresses a differing view on a subject she will act irrationally and verbally violently.
She is an audiophile and will jam a pair of headphones over her ears at any chance she gets, music seeming to be the only thing that will calm her out of any fit of rage, other than a strong mental shock. She is awkward around people but will flirt tenaciously with either sex once she is comfortable with them, which doesn't take exceptionally long. She can't stand people invading her 'personal space', though, and will often hide behind whatever she can if someone does. She doesn't like exceptionally loud or unexpected noises and will sneeze when exposed to a sudden bright light. She doesn't like exceptionally rude, manipulative, or dishonest people.

She has trouble concentrating, often confuses fantasy with reality, and is, to a point, naive.

'Superman is dead'

Those three words threw the world into a state of grieving as their most cherished hero had fallen, but the world's criminals were just as active as ever, if not even more so. So CADMUS, commissioned by the United States government, decided to create a second Superman, to defend the earth as the Man of Steel once did. CADMUS decided to clone Superman, since a robot or cyborg would be hackable and not as durable as a direct clone of Superman. Though they found Kryptonian DNA not easily cloneable, they found they could bond it to any species - bird, reptile, or mammal, - and it would give them the abilities of a Kryptonian.

Unknown to the rest of the world, not even to the world government's highest ranks, certain officials in CADMUS were not just working to clone just a single Superman, but an army of them to sell to the highest bidder. There were two projects, 13, the male superman, and 14, the female superman. The success rate of Project 14 was not nearly as high as Projects 13's, so 14 was shut down, much to the anger of Dr. Simon Flint, the head of the project. He continued in secret in his own private labs, agonizing over every small calculation before... he had succeeded. Somewhat. He had found this 'Supergirl', made from the genes of Superman and Tana Moon (Superboy's then-girlfriend) would age just like anyone else until she reached twenty-two, when aging would stop. When she was three years old he awakened her and let her out of her containment and raised her as if she were his own. He told the authorities he had found her sleeping on his doorstep after he heard a knock on his door and they seemed to buy it. She was registered as Kana Flint.

They soon moved from Los Angeles to the outskirts of Jump City shortly after Kana's fourth birthday, where he could train her in the use her very early-blooming Tactile-Telekineses powers.

Kana didn't know why she grew up isolated from other kids but she knew it had something to do with her abilities. She continued training her abilities and waiting eagerly for her sixteenth birthday, when she would be allowed to do actual super-heroing and not just her 'father's' drills. She went to school at uptown Jump City, making friends with a boy named James Keller, who had an incredible intellect. By the time she was twelve, she started noticing some things. She would go into violent mood swings and sometimes even black out. Her 'father' had been worried this might happen and had developed a mind altering drug to prevent the mood swings. It just made them worse. He decided to put her in isolation, in order to protect the people around her and develop a cure for her symptoms.

Four years passed and a cure was not found and her instability had become increasingly violent. Then the unthinkable happened. Simon snapped. He came home drunk one day and burned his house down with him and Kana inside. Kana survived but Simon didn't. She drug Simon's body out of the fire and just stared at his charred body until she heard sirens and flew away, scared they would blame it on her.

It was about six o'clock, PM, in the city of Jump and the sun was just edging down into the sea to the west, setting to rise another day. The humidity was not too unbearable, but was a discomfort to Kana as she flew over the tall buildings that covered Jump City's landscape.

She flew high, among the clouds, too scared of what might happen if she were seen by anyone. She was exhausted, mentally and physically, and it showed in her stuttering flight. She fought just to keep her eyes open, not to mention stay airborne. She slowly lowered herself into one of the many back-alleys of the city, somewhere near the middle of Jump, but she didn't care where, exactly, she just needed sleep.

The images that she had witnessed just barely fifteen minutes before were still fresh in her mind, the image of her charred father forcing itself onto her eyes every time she so much as blinked. She landed, her boots making a clopping sound, and she leaned her back against the high brick wall, her breath ragged and worn. She lowered herself to the ground, her mind falling into 'sleep mode' before she could even close her eyes.
